About Us
Okinawa is the birthplace of karate, and traditional karate, which has been passed down from generation to generation, has spread throughout the world as a unique traditional cultural heritage. Master Kenyu Chinen, the founder of World Oshukai, moved to Europe by himself about 50 years ago and established “World Oshukai” in France in 1979. Our high aspirations have spread all over the world, and today we have become a large international network of approximately 6,000 members from dozens of countries, including Europe, South America, Canada, and Africa. Why does traditional Okinawan karate attract so much attention from around the world? It is based on the spirit of harmony found in the principles of traditional Okinawan karate, and the “martial arts of the solemn scholar’’ taught by Master Sokon Matsumura, the founder of Shuri Te, who revitalized the ancestral art (of the Okinawans). I believe that the training method of patience is useful for producing strong people. At the online dojo, people who are interested in traditional Okinawan karate can start practicing karate regardless of location or time. Furthermore, it is possible to obtain the “Kyu” (grade) qualification (grade exclusively for online dojos) online. (There are very few dojos that systematically conduct instructional exams for awarding qualifications online.) We support you in improving your karate skills with an instructional system that matches your (preference and schedule). Why not try learning Okinawa’s traditional karate, too?
World Oshukai is working hard day and night to clarify its activity guidelines
by adhering to the three guidelines to “train (diligently),” “master (the lessons) to the fullest,”
and “harmonize (the mind and body).”
