Q1. What languages are used in online lessons?
A: Lessons are mainly taught in English. Most of the lessons are in simple English related to karate, so you don’t need to be good at English.
Q2. I am a beginner and have no experience in karate, can I keep up with the lessons online?
A: The World Oshukai Online Dojo consists of programs that even beginners with no experience in karate can experience with peace of mind. You can take the course with confidence.
Q3. Is there support if I don’t understand?
A: If you don’t understand something even after watching the video content, we will support you during joint rehearsals or through chat.
Q4. How do I participate in joint rehearsals?
A: Joint rehearsals will be held online with multiple students participating at the same time. If you wish to participate in a joint practice, we will send you the schedule and an invitation link for the online joint practice in advance. Please use the invitation link to join the rehearsal on the specified date and time. (Please make sure you have some space at home so you can move around. Also, please wear a DoGi.)
Q5. What criteria will the promotion exam be evaluated against?
A: For example, in the case of the Pre-5 Kyu Grade promotion exam, if the instructor determines that the participation rate in the joint practice and the assignments of Basic Techniques 1, Popular Type 1, and Naihanchi Shodan have reached the exam level, you can take the exam. We will make this decision after taking the required private lesson. Pass/Fail decisions will be made in accordance with the rules of the World Oshukai. If you pass, you will be awarded a diploma and belt.
Q6. Can I take private lessons?
A: Of course. Three pre-exam tutoring sessions are required and included in the course fee. If you would like to deepen your knowledge, private lessons are also available for an additional fee.
Q7. Can I take a break during the session?
A: Although, we do not have a “time off” system, you are eligible to take the course for one year from the date of application. Please note that you will no longer be eligible to enroll after one year.
Q8. What kind of training can I receive?
A: There are mainly three types of training: Independent Training using educational videos, Joint Training, and Private Lessons.
Q9. Can I view it on my smartphone?
A: Yes. It is possible.
Q10. How do I make a reservation?
A: You will be required to make a reservation on the calendar for joint rehearsals and private lessons.
Q11. Is it okay to enter and leave the room midway?
A: In principle, that is not acceptable. But only if it is unavoidable.
Q12. Can I cancel my subscription immediately? Can I try it out?
A: Fees are paid after enrollment and cannot be refunded for any reason. Also, although there are no specific trial services, we do have a trial version available, so please use that to make your own decision.
Q13. What kind of clothes should I wear?
A: We will give you the Oshukai Dogi (Dojo Gi Uniform) you wear when you start, so please wear it to practice. Also, until your uniform arrives, you can wear anything that is easy to move in.
Q14. Is it possible to aim for promotion to 4th Kyu Grade or higher at an online dojo?
A: Of course, you can. We are also considering Pre-3rd Kyu Grade and Pre-2nd Kyu Grade courses to meet future needs.
Q15. I’m often busy with work and can’t make time for group rehearsals. Is there a deadline for taking the exam?
A: Basically, the deadline is one year from the start date. However, if you have special circumstances or reasons, please contact the office.
Q16. Is it possible to cancel and get a refund because it’s not what I expected (or I’m too busy to attend)?
A: Please note that no refunds will be given for any reason.
Q17. Is it possible to exchange the DoGi and obi because they don’t fit?
A: DoGi (Dojo Gi Uniform) are made to order based on the size data provided by the customer. Please note that we cannot accept changes in size after delivery.
